On Sunday, October 5th, Rev. Elizabeth Eaton, the new ELCA Presiding Bishop (the head of the Lutheran church in the US), will be installed in Chicago. She is the first female Presiding Bishop in the ELCA.
She is articulate and decisive and emphasizes the importance to make room for differences in our church and find the commonality we all share as Christians. She also encourages us as Lutherans to “go out into our communities” and to be “missionaries at home.”
Please pray for Bishop Eaton as she takes leadership, that God may illuminate her path and give her the knowledge, the people, and the resources she needs to do His work.
Peace and Blessings,
